Fact #1:

Never hire a SEO company that guarantees a number one placement in Google. There are lots of “come and go companies” promising to get your site number one in Google. First, they guarantee top placements and their cost is very low. For anyone who has been in the search engine industry for a while, knows how much time and efforts it takes to get top placements in Google for the most competitive terms. Therefore, no professional search engine optimization company will offer their services for cheap as it takes lots of hours and continuous efforts to gain the desirable positions. Some companies hire a whole team to take care of the search engine marketing efforts. At least one full time employee with lots of search marketing experience is the minimum investment that you should consider if you want to see some tangible results. This requires technical skills, the latest search engine information knowledge and great writing skills in English as Google looks for quality of information. This comes with a price tag.

Fact #2:

Never hire a company that uses out-dated search marketing strategies. First, they are not effective as the search engines changes all the time. Second, it will cause your website’s spam score index to increase which will lower your rankings (in worst case scenario your website could be banned in Google). So what are outdated strategies? If a search engine optimization company uses link exchanges to aggressively promote your site, Google will boost your spam score. Although this strategy used to work well many years back, it is not against Google’s guidelines. Moreover, linking with irrelevant industries will also boost your spam score with Google. Another popular technique that search engine optimization companies tell their potential clients is submissions to search engines. Although this was true back 8 years ago, there is no need to submit your site anymore. Google will find your website if you are linked up with highly quality sites and they will index your website fairly quickly (as well as update it on a regular basis). When a SEO company mentions submissions to search engines, websites, social bookmarking sites or article websites etc, you need to get a confirmation of your URL (your website address) where your link is located. Submissions are useless unless they get indexed and confirmed. If a company mention submission and no confirmation that will tell you that they are using an automated software to blast out your website to thousands of search engines, article websites or directories. This is a sure way to get your website’s spam score to drastically increase which will cause your ranking to slip or being prevented by Google from gaining better positions.

Fact #3:

Only hire a SEO company where they themselves show up for their targeted terms. If they cannot show up themselves, chances are that they will not be able to help you as well.

Fact #4:

Off-site optimization is now the single most important strategy you can employ in your search marketing strategies. On-site optimization means the keywords that you place on your page in the title tag, meta tags, header, links, alt tags and visible on the page. Off-site optimization means optimizing your website “outside” of your website. Why is this important to Google? Because every company wants to be ranked number one and everyone tries to include many keywords on the page that Google needs other methods to more accurately rank the most relevant sites in the top. This means your website has to appear on highly quality websites, which have high Google Page Rank but also high Trust Rank. Highly trusted sites are governmental, educational, and also websites with “expertise” in their own area. Usually these are sites have lots of quality content and many users. Trust rank technology is getting more and more popular as the Google Page Rank system is being abused and therefore not so important anymore. With the web 2.0 entering the internet industry and revolutionize the way websites work, it is crucial that you embrace these new technologies such as video marketing, social media websites, article syndication, and building quality and quantity links to your website. As you keep working on these strategies, Google will notice your site growing and will eventually give your website “some love” and rank your site highly for many competitive and popular terms.

Fact #5:

Getting listings in Directories used to be a very effective method as the search engines considered them very important. Nowadays, directories are being spammed and abused. Therefore, submissions to directories are not important and not effective anymore in your search marketing efforts. The only three directories that I would consider important are Yahoo Directory, DMOZ, and BOTW directories as they are highly trusted and recognized by Google.

Why, on your web pages of course. Ok, just kidding. The real question should be: “Is there really any truth to the rumors that where you place those Google AdSense ads can actually improve response?” According to my best information, the answer to that question is: Yes.

Google’s own AdSense experts say that that there is a direct correlation between the placement of the AdSense ads and the resulting clickthrough.

When ads are placed in “content zones”, rather than in “advertising zones”, response rates on Google AdWords goes up. There are also indications showing that ads appearing on the right side of the page get clicked more than ads appearing on the left side.

Advertising analysts with degrees in human behavior and psychology have spent thousands of man-years (people-years?) studying how people read printed and Internet content and what it takes to get them to respond to ads. While some of these studies are proprietary, or are only available to anyone with $10,000 or more to spend on a copy, other studies have been made public and can be read by anyone who is interested.

Google themselves has released some relevant information which is focused directly on increasing your Google AdSense response. You can read their findings here

Of course, all of the studies in the world aren’t worth a hill of beans if the findings don’t work on your web site. That’s why it is important to test, test and test again. Experiment with your Google AdSense placement and track the results over a period of time. Google provides response tracking tools in your AdSense control panel. Google’s own AdSense experts say that that there is a direct correlation between the placement of the AdSense ads and the resulting clickthrough.
Learn how to use them. As you begin to see what may be only subtle differences in response, you’ll be able to determine what works best for your particular site. But don’t get complacent. What’s working for you now might not work next month if you change your site design or content.

One of the most important factors in determining placement of your ads is the type of content that your site delivers. If you are primarily an e-commerce site, and you have a lot of pictures and ad copy for your own products competing for attention against AdSense ads, then it is going to be a particularly tough challenge getting any kind of decent Google AdSense clickthrough.
When ads are placed in “content zones”, rather than in “advertising zones”, response rates on Google AdWords goes up. There are also indications showing that ads appearing on the right side of the page get clicked more than ads appearing on the left side. It is situations like this that require very thorough testing and a lot of trial and error.

Blogs seem to have a lot of success generating high response rates to Google AdSense listings. Perhaps it’s because blog readers realize that ad revenue is the only way that their favorite blogmaster can keep the lights on, so the readers think of clicking on ads as a way to make a donation.

How many sites link to your site? In other words, state the link popularity health of your site. Have you ever been asked this question? And, did not know what to say?

Go to Google. Type in link:www.cnn.com in the search box. The number that Google throws up, namely, 115,000 (on the blue-colored bar present on top of the page) at the time of writing this article, is the total number of sites that are currently linking to www.cnn.com, and which have been indexed by Google. In other words, this number can be greater than 115,000, or more than 115,000 sites may have currently linked to www.cnn.com, but it won’t show up with the (link: www.cnn.com), because those sites are not in the Google’s Database.

Methodology for building link popularity through Reciprocal Link Exchange Programs

1.Create a html page, preferably named as “Resources/Links/Partners” and place a link of this page from Index Page of your site. This page should never be more than 1 click away from the index page of your site, else webmasters won’t be interested in participating in the reciprocal link exchange program.

2.Target both “industry-related” and “non-industry-related” websites as your link exchange partners. For example, if you are providing SEO services, then try getting links from “industry-related websites (i.e. websites dealing with SEO, maybe your business rivals). This is important, because if 10 of your rival (here SEO) sites give link to your site, then Google will surely pay importance to your site, because getting links from rival companies are difficult. Your site MUST be of some high caliber, else the other 10 sites won’t have linked! Also, try procuring general links as well.

3.Always exchange links with websites which have high PageRank (PR) (at least 4, the more the better!) (both Index Page as well as Resources/Links Page of the Link Partner’s site should have PRs of >=4)

4.Have a link code ready for participating in link exchange program. Here is a sample link code for a SEO company.

<a href="http://www.search-engine-optimization-ranking-placement-services.com" title=""search" engine="engine" optimization="optimization" ranking="ranking" placement="placement">Search Engine Optimization, Ranking, Placement Services – Offers Search Engine Optimization, Ranking, Placement Services to get top ranks in various Search Engines.

Always prefer a text link (as given above) in comparison to a banner link, where your chance of Google spiders, i.e. Googlebot finding the potential keywords is limited only to the “alt tag” of the banner. Also, Google pays importance to the text of the incoming link/anchor text (i.e. the incoming link text must contain high potential, relevant keywords),

so develop a link text with title (“search engine optimization ranking placement services”) which will help you in Google Ranking.

5.Refrain from java script link code because Google spiders find it difficult to index.

6.There are various ways of approaching and procuring potential link partners. Firstly, how to get industry related websites to link to yours? Suppose, “search engine optimization”, “search engine promotion” and “search engine ranking” are 3 of your core keywords. Go to Google. Type in each of the three keywords, and find the top 10 sites for each keyword. Now, you have 10 * 3 = 30 websites. Visit the links page (if applicable, since some sites refrain from participating in link exchange programs) of each of the 30 sites, and note down all the sites that are linking to these sites. For example, if each of these 30 sites have 10 sites linking to it, you have 10 * 30 = 300 potential websites to exchange links with. (Please note that our experience shows that conversion rate of successful link exchange is 1 in 4-5, i.e. if you approach 4-5 websites, 1 site will ultimately provide you with reciprocal link, so in order to get high incoming links, you must research extensively and find more potential link partners. Also, as mentioned above, always try to exchange links with websites having PR >=4).

7.If you request a link to a top-level page or the homepage of your site, this will have a positive effect on this page. If the PageRank of this page increases, then the page below it will increase (if the internal linking structure is correct), but it will still be one PageRank number below the page above it that was linked to.

8.Manually submit the page to Google where your link partner has placed the link of your site.

For example, if your link partner’s website is www.abc.com and he has placed your website in his resources page, namely, www.abc.com/resources.html, then go to http://www.google.com/addurl.html and submit www.abc.com/resources.html. It is very essential for getting good ranks in Google that you submit the page where your site has been placed by your link partners.

In a recent article I talked about Google AdSense placement based on eye-tracking research. However, research by The Pointer Institute, Eye tools and the Slow Center for Journalism and New Media has a lot to say about more than where to put an AdSense block.

Designing an eCommerce site is more than making it pretty. You have certain desired actions you’re looking for from your visitors. You have specific things you want to be sure they see and hopefully act on. Now, there’s some research that can guide your design. Certainly you want your site to look professional, but you want it to do its job as effectively as possible too.

Typical behavior on initially viewing a site is to do a fast scan of the entire visible screen with short focusing periods around the areas that attract attention. First pass tends to include headlines, the page logo, photo captions, subheads, links and menu items. And the big hot spot is the upper left corner of the screen. I haven’t seen any definitive research on whether these patterns also hold for users with native languages that read any way except left to right, but I’m assuming most of you are building sites for left-to-right readers.

The clear message is that your most important real estate is in that upper left area and that the lower right (particularly if it’s below the fold) is the least likely to receive much attention.

How you use your words in a headline, paragraph or link can make a huge difference in your success at capturing a visitor’s attention. The concept is called frontloading. Wherever you can make sure your critical terms appear at the very beginning of headlines, links and other text. It’s still got to make sense, but the first few words are far more likely to be at least scanned then the middle or end of a headline or link or the inside of a paragraph.

The exact same words can have drastically different capture rates depending on their order. You want to maximize the probability that the visitor will read a whole headline or link and then act on it. So put the most significant, enticing words first – the ones that are the best grabbers and convey the subject immediately.

You don’t have a lot of time to mess about. It’s been reported that a typical surfer may be off your page in well under 14 seconds unless something grabs his or her attention fast. Remember the upper-left? You want to do an especially good job with headlines, link and text in that area.

Drop caps (where the first capitalized letter in a line is in a different, often unusual, font and extends below the normal text base-line), bolding, font changes and color changes can also serve as strong eye-attractors. If you try these techniques you need to be careful that you don’t overuse them (your page will look like a mess), and it’s extremely important that you test whether or not they’re actually doing what you want. Annoying as it may be, running tests is the only way to make sure it’s an improvement.

Do you use lists? Have you made sure that they’re in-line and as close to the left margin as possible? Don’t ever use an outline format with multiple indents. People scan down, not across and they tend to scan close to the left margin. Indent too much and it might as well be invisible.

An interesting testing result that I read somewhere said that somewhere between 10 and 20 percent of site visitors don’t even see centered headlines. Sure they look nice and a lot of sites use them, but if they’re totally missed by even 3 percent of your visitors, you’re paying a major price to look good. Suggestion put those headlines up against your left margin.

This also applies to links. Put those links up against the left margin, not inside a paragraph, centered or off to the right. And if you want any clicks on a link, never put it in that nearly unseen lower right area. Might as well just leave it off your page

How about indented paragraphs? Now there’s a great way to start an argument. Some argue that it attracts the eye, it’s different, and few sites use it so you stand out. Others insist that you’re far better off staying left justified and frontloading each paragraphed. There’s only one way to resolve it for yourself, yeah, run some tests and see what works with your visitors on your site.

The bottom line is that once you get beyond the basics of placement, frontloading, and left-justified links and headlines, you need to test if you want to fully maximize the effectiveness of your website design. I wish there were a simpler answer too, but in the end only testing will tell you what works best for your site.

Undoubtedly, you’ve heard about Google’s AdSense and you are thinking about giving it a go. But is it really worth placing an AdSense banner on your site?

The answer is a definite yes. You could always have some other banner on your site, or even use some search of affiliate ad program and that would probably make you some money, given of course that your site enjoys a healthy amount of visitors. However with affiliate marketing, it is expected that the visitor from your website completes a sale before you are remunerated.

But that’s nowhere near what you get for using AdSense. There are people who earn in excess of 100.000 dollars per year by using AdSense. And it doesn’t just stop with making more money. Firstly, the ads are text only. That means they’re by far less obtrusive on your visitors then your average, flashy banner that’s designed to catch the eye of the visitor.

Sure, you’ll have to ensure they get better placement, so as to be noticed but despite that they don’t bother viewer’s as much as traditional ads. Think about the many sites you’ve seen using pop-ups, floating banners and many other schemes that will have visitors screaming in anger every time they visit the said website. You can actually do better then that, annoying people less and still making an amount of money.

Secondly, the ads are generated based on the contents of your site automatically. When you use an affiliate ad program, you have to specify certain categories that your sites belong to.

However, if any page on your site falls outside of these categories, the banners aren’t targeted anymore. And what that means is that you’re potentially showing ads to people who don’t have any interest in them and that can lead to inefficiencies.

With Google AdSense that just about never happens: the ads present on your site will always be in sync with whatever your visitors are interested in and that adds to your site’s value and to the revenue it produces.

What’s more, the look of these banners and their size is customizable, which means they will feel more integrated with the rest of your site’s content, which brings an increase in your site’s overall visual quality as opposed to a traditional approach.

For many people, there’s also a great problem with finding people to advertise on their site as well. AdSense is clearly the easiest solution available to this problem today.

It’s free to join the AdSense program and it almost takes no time at all. The potential database of websites from AdWords is larger then anything you might encounter from any competitor, numbering over 150.000 users. This means as more people compete the CPC or cost per click for search terms will inevitably rise.

Also, setting up AdSense on your site is a breeze, and you can complete the whole process in less then an hour. It takes a lot less to do then any form of affiliate advertising which is yet another reason to choose the easy AdSense approach.

All you need to do is add an AdSense banner on your website (other then registering with the program of course) is to copy & paste a few lines and you’re all done, you get to choose where the banners go, how large they are and how they integrate with the rest of your site.

For any webmaster out there, that’s a killer scheme because it lets you draw the line between your site’s usability level and the amount of advertising you wish to have. Some people need the money badly while others just keep AdSense running to pay for the hosting of their website.

AdSense is a great advertising program because a lot of thought has went into making it “just work for everyone”. It works great for the people who use AdWords, for the webmasters using AdSense, and most importantly for the visitors of the websites.

Why, on your web pages of course. Ok, just kidding. The real question should be: Is there really any truth to the rumors that where you place those Google Adsense ads can actually improve response? According to my best information, the answer to that question is: Yes.
Googles own Adsense experts say that that there is a direct correlation between the placement of the Adsense ads and the resulting click through.

When ads are placed in content zones, rather than in advertising zones, response rates on Google Ad Words goes up.
In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest. The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertise.
Of course, all of the studies in the world arent worth a hill of beans if the findings dont work on your web site. Thats why it is important to test, test and test again. Experiment with your Google Adsense placement and track the results over a period of time. Google provides response tracking tools in your Adsense control panel. Learn how to use them. As you begin to see what may be only subtle differences in response, youll be able to determine what works best for your particular site. But dont get complacent. Whats working for you now might not work next month if you change your site design or content.
One of the most important factors in determining placement of your ads is the type of content that your site delivers. If you are primarily an e-commerce site, and you have a lot of pictures and ad copy for your own products competing for attention against Adsense ads, then it is going to be a particularly tough challenge getting any kind of decent Google Adsense click through. It is situations like this that require very thorough testing and a lot of trial and error.
Blogs seem to have a lot of success generating high response rates to Google Adsense listings. Perhaps its because blog readers realize that ad revenue is the only way that their favorite blogmaster can keep the lights on, so the readers think of clicking on ads as a way to make a donation.

Regardless of what the experts say, your best bet is to tailor your Google Adsense ad placement to what your own experience shows works best for you. In the end, youre the only expert who matters.

If you are depending on Google AdSense for revenue for your website, you need to learn the truth about AdSense placement to ensure that you are getting a high number of clicks on the ads. When it comes to Google AdSense, not getting clicks means your website is not earning revenue! However, by learning the truth about AdSense placements, you will soon see a higher number of clicks on your Google AdSense reports. The truth about AdSense placement is that there is a trick to it. You want to do several things to make sure those ads get clicked on as especially if you are depending on that income! Start by determining where to place the code on your pages. There is no one spot that is right for all websites and all WebPages. It just does not work that way. Each website and each page is unique, and the goal of the page is unique and therefore, the placement of the ads must also be unique. If possible, you should use catchy tricks to get your ads clicked on. The more the ads look like actual content on your page, the more they will get clicked on. For instance, if you have a directory of listings on your site, you would want to make the font and colors the same, so that the Google ads actually looked like part of the directory listing. A good way to integrate the ads into content is again to use the same fonts and same colors, and to place the ads in the middle of the pages content. The more you can integrate the ads into your pages in a way that looks like it is part of the content, as opposed to ads on the pages, the more clicks you will receive. You definitely need to match your ad fonts and font colors to your pages fonts and font colors. Retain the same look and feel of your website wherever possible. If you are making the ads part of the content or part of a directory listing, choose not to use a border around the ads. This customization can all be done through the Google AdSense control panel when you login to your Google account. If you can not make the ads appear as part of the actual content, you have to determine where your visitors attention is focused on your pages, and place the ads in that general area where they can be seen. Again, you want to match the look and feel of your website, but in this instance, you should probably use a border around the ads. The truth about AdSense placement is that you should place the ads where they will be the most visible to your visitors. You want the ad blocks to look like they belong on your pages, but at the same time, you want them to draw attention as well, so that your visitors will click on them. Furthermore, if you can include the ads as part of the content itself, you will find that you are getting a higher number of clicks almost overnight! You have probably heard that putting your AdSense ads in certain spots on a page increases clicks. This is not necessarily true. Although some places generally are hotter than others, the ads need to be located where they will get the most clicks. Depending on the content on your pages, the layout of your pages, and your visitors attention, this will vary from website to website, and from web page to web page. This brings us to another fact that you need to know. Placing the ads in a particular spot on one page is no indication that the ads should be placed in the same place on a different page on your website. Again, think about how you can integrate the ads into your content, and where your visitors attention will be focused. This will vary from page to page in many cases. Just remember that there are many factors to consider when determining the truth about AdSense placement for your pages. What works well for one website may not work for another. What works well for one website page may not work well for all pages on that website. Experts are great for a lot of things, but when it comes to placement of AdSense ads on your website, you have to be your own expert! sPlease browse for more information at our websites.swww.youradsenseprofits.comwww.reprintarticlesite.com
