/>How can you choose the best domain for the efficiency of your offline and online marketing? Brand name versus business name. Hyphenated or not? Which is the Host Server for your new website?
1) What is a domain name ?
A domain name is the location of your website on the internet, it is also the location of your company, or your private enterprise in the immense internet market. In case a domain name named the same with your offline brand name, location, hotel or restaurant, tour specialist, local region or community which is well-known in tourism market, you have had a big advantage than different competitor. Because of:
* You will receive targeted visitor tourism your website, For example: You are a travel company who supply some kind of Trekking tour in the favorite Nepal, your chosen domain name should be: Nepal Trekkingtour Nepal-trekkingtour Besttrekking-Nepal… and so on Visitor will find very easily to communicate with a travel company which has the name is the description of the kind of services they are finding, and you will better in persuading your client because they are all prospect visitor. * Your website will be listed in Yahoo! In Travel Directory and other Search Engine results. Imagine when a visitor want to spend a trekking tour in Nepal, he decides to search internet to find a good supply among a thousand of sites. He chose Google, for example, and enter keyword of his wish: ” Nepal + trekking tour”. And a a result of choosing a right target domain name, your website URL and a short description will appear at the sight and he clicks.
But remember, whether he chooses your services or not depend on a process of building credibility which originate from: your site design, your respond, the price, your level of professional and much more…
But you have had an advantage when you have chosen a right domain and your prospect client has seen you among thousand of competitor. 2) Domain name extension: .com
Each domain has what’s called an extension. The most well known of these extensions is .com. This extension is encouraged to be used most, because it is tightened in the mind of all the people around the world. All the surfers tend to enter it after almost domain name. So because it long time used at the beginning of internet era so it difficult to chose a good domain name. COM. ..net
If you can’t find your preferred .com domain name you could always choose the same domain with a .net extension. It might not have the same ring as a .com but is still as just useful as a .com. .org
These domain extensions were originally designed for educational and more formal websites. As a tourism organization, we can use it. But all of it are enterprise such as hotel or travel company… it is not recommend to chose it. .info
A more recent introduction to the domain name game are .info domains. Many of the valuable .info domains were bought up overnight but there’s still a huge range of good .info domains available. Bear in mind that most web. Not recommended.
..travel
This is a newcomer, we can use it well because it is to identify all the tourism and hospitality website. A new rule…
There a great article about “.travel” by the link below:
http://www.tourism-internetmarketing.com/ITtourism/1/20.htm
There are many region extension: uk, us, vn, … which is suite for your online tourism partner to used to indicate our region location and services. It also an advantage for inbound tourism and hospitality supply. A visitor is seem to put his truth on a local professional supply, certainly! 3) Brand name versus Business name: We are hardly to know exactly whether to chose a domain name actually reflect our real business or establish a new brand name online and promote it. A right choice is base on your own case after give a careful consideration on marketing strategy of our company. If you are a well-known company who want to target the inbound visitors, get your long time famous brand name is the right choice. Because your client will see it easy for them to find your web and remember it as you are famous ih their mind.
But if you want to take advantage of the global market, a business name enclose with the region maybe a better choice.
Try to register a domain which contains a popular keyword applicable for your industry. This will help your customers remember your domain name better. Furthermore, for searches conducted in Yahoo!, a higher ranking will be given to those web sites which contain the keywords in the title. And according to Yahoo!’s instructions, the Title should always be the official name of the site. Thus, if the domain name contains a keyword, you will be able to include the keyword in the Title which will improve your ranking in Yahoo!. As a minor side-benefit, this can also help to increase the ranking of your web site in some search engines.

Click the link below to get a forum account to read this resources: 4) Hyphenated or not This is another area of debate. Should your domain be one single word or should the words be separated by hyphens? There are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches. Single word domain names can be easier to explain, use on header paper and lend themselves to brand names very well.
Single word domains are in very, very short supply.
Hyphenated domains names can be slightly more difficult to explain, may not look as well on headed paper and possibly harder to establish as a brand name. There’s no shortage of multiple word domains.
The single biggest advantage a hyphenated domain has is that searche engines can “read” the domain more easily. For example in a domain like www.foreignholidaysonline.com the search engine can only read the first word “foreign” and that’s it. It can’t tell anything else about the website domain name. If you hyphenated that to www.foreign-holidays-online.com the search engine can read “foreign”, “holidays” and “online” as separate words and therefore knows that this website is about foreign holidays.
A well chosen hyphenated domain name can be just as effective as a single word domain name.
5) Don’t make your primary domain too long. Even though 67 character domains are a reality, exactly how many of your users will want to type a domain name like thebesttrekkingtourinnepal.com?
6) Chose the supplier: There are many domain suppliers waiting for you out there online, the best choice is find out a well-known web servers who always supply the services Domain name registration. A good domain name .com will can be get at the price of 15 $, but you can buy it cheaper as the price of 7,95$.
Are there any disadvantages in using a discount domain registrar? Will it affect your website in any way? The answer to both is a definite No.

How To Use Free Ad Websites For Profits!
June 29, 2009 by The Big SEO
Do you lack the advertising budget of the gurus? Are you struggling to put your product or website in front of customers?
It’s a good thing you found this article. This article will share with you one of the free ways I use to put my products and websites in front of my customers.
I use free ad websites to advertise quite a bit. Like some of you, I don’t have big ad budget. I have found free ad websites handy in my internet pursuit.
When I say free ad website, I do not mean Free For All (FFA) websites. FFA websites were once effective way of advertising on the internet, but people have abused them so much that they are now of no value. I suggest you stay away from them.
You still see a lot of them around because newbies still fall for them. When I was a newbie, I did fall for them. The horror I wish not to discuss
Below are the benefits of free ad websites and how they can put money in your pocket:
a) The good ones have high traffic and are highly ranked in the search engines. So people will get to see what you are selling as they visit these highly ranked websites. If you have a good ad, your product will sell.
b) They provide backlinks to your website. Backlinks help your website rank high in the search engines.
c) Some of them have good pagerank and can transfer some their pagerank to your website. If you don’t know what pagerank is, don’t worry. The only thing you need to know is that it helps your website’s ranking in the search engines.
d) Since the search engines highly regard some of the good ones, your ad can rank high in the search engines. I had this happen top me. The ad for my website was ranked higher than my website. This will translate into sales when people looking for your product visit your website.
Do not discount the effectiveness of free ad websites. The method is so highly effective that I know an e-book on the market right now teaching this method and similar methods. It sells for some pretty pennies. I cover this method and more in my Zero Cost Profits report (see my resources box below).

Is Having a.info Domain Name for Your Website Worthwhile?
June 29, 2009 by The Big SEO
by David Underhill aka BareFootTech.
Deciding on a Domain Name for your planned or existing website can often be a harrowing and expensive proposition. Often the only gTLD or domain extension considered is a .com. There are several compelling reasons why a .info can be a better or equally valid choice. Current Market value
Because of various promotions last year, and occasional specials, .info’s value is now deemed to be less than some other gTLDS.This doesn’t mean they are worthless. If the retail price was the same as other gTLDs would people still buy it? Yes of course , retail prices for .info’s at most Domain Name Registration sites are the same prices than .com domainsSuitability
.Info means information ,and is what most of the internet is all about. Imparting information about products and services a company is selling.
Information about your family ,business, neighbourhood, diseases or whatever else. Isn’t that exactly why you have a website ? www.minisite.info is a more descriptive url for minisite information than www.barefoottech.net/minisite/index.htmlAvailability
Because of the mindset of some people , “Free” or “Cheap” means “Valueless” , therefore they don’t use the gTLD .info for their web-sites. Other people have the flawed idea that .info can’t be a “Real” tld so they don’t get them for investment purposes. Therefore good keyword and search friendly names are often still available at the above “Bargain Prices” and are very suitable for use.
Even more suitable than choosing a less than search friendly name just because it is available as a .COM. Acceptability
Most users of the internet, i.e. the average websurfer, will use .info sites. You remember them, the ones the websites is being created for, utilise search engines and media listings to find a Website URL’s. They than use the relevant URL regardless of the .gTLD. Major websites, including several government agencies use .info for their advertised URL’s.
(e.g. NSW Countrylink Rail )
ConclusionsYes .Info are worth something.Value for money often (not always, but neither is all .com’s)Good names in .info can be worth a lot more than a lousy .comEveryone should investigate all gTLD’s and get rid of their ill informed prejudices.info is not the “Devils TLD” which is the attitude of some peopleThink not “cheap” ,think instead “Incredibly Great Value”
SEO Case Study, Attorneys Chasing Vioxx Organic Search R
June 29, 2009 by The Big SEO
Last week the drug manufacturer Merck pulled their pain relief
medication Vioxx (rofecoxib) from the market due to studies
linking higher incidence of heart attacks and strokes to long
term use of their medication. The highly profitable medicine
was aimed at Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferers and others who
weren’t able to stomach aspirin, which is arguably more
effective than Vioxx is for most pain relief.
Top search engine rankings for the trademarked word “Vioxx”
were dominated by Merck-owned web site http://www.Vioxx.com
as of September 30, 2004. The site is likely to keep that
ranking now that hundreds of thousands are flocking to the
search engines and typing in “Vioxx” to learn if they or
their loved ones are at risk of heart attack from taking
the medication.
News organizations are all linking to http://www.Vioxx.com
site from online news stories about the health concerns and
financial repurcussions to Merck of the sudden recall. Merck
has run full page ads in top newspapers nationwide addressing
the sudden action and sending those millions of readers to
the http://www.Vioxx.com site and http://www.Merck.com site
to read disclaimers and learn how to get refunds for the
medication they already have in their medicine cabinets. The
inbound links will soar at a point when they probably want
it most so they can present their case to web visitors.
Taking the second position is the FDA page outlining the recall
and linking to more info at the FDA site
http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/vioxx/default.htm
Third place for the single word “Vioxx” also belongs to an FDA
page and fourth and fifth positions are owned by a site that
appears to be a drug index at
http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/rofecox_ad.htm
Sixth place is currently held by
http://www.medicinenet.com/rofecoxib/article.htm at a medical
site that dominates for many drug and medical terms due to
extensive discussion boards and informational pages about
thousands of medical conditions and their treatments. Seventh
through tenth position are CNN’s news story on the recall,
then Yahoo News with a similar story, two online pharmacies
with curiously blank pages. Try to sell Tylenol from those
pages guys – don’t waste the traffic with blank pages!
Pay-per-click advertisements were posted by agressive class
action attorneys to run alongside organic search rankings and
appeared immediately on the day of the recall announcement.
The first search for the word Vioxx done at Google on Friday
October 1st brought up an advertisement for
http://www.Vioxx-heart-attack.com as the first result in the
Adwords listings along the right side of the page. The bids
were below a dollar a click on Friday, but are rapidly
escalating as ever more law firms jump into the bidding war.
The real test comes now for organic search engine optimization
firms as they set out to gain top rankings for their class
action attorney clients. Interestingly, I’ve just finished
reading the John Grisham novel, “King of Torts”, about a young
“mass torts” attorney that made over an hundred million
dollars by being the first to run nationwide television ads
seeking clients injured by a faulty drug manufactured by a
giant pharmaceutical company. Although the protaganist in the
story has a web site to collect leads, nothing is mentioned
of PPC advertising nor is it likely to be discussed in novels.
In “King of Torts” nothing is ever mentioned about organic
search engine ranking of his web site either. Settlement seems
to have come faster than would be possible to gain top rankings
for a highly competitive search phrase. It will be extremely
interesting to watch domain name sales related to Vioxx, since
keywords in domain names always help rankings. Some that are
showing up in PPC ads include the previously mentioned
Vioxx-heart-attack.com, Vioxx-side-effects.com, Vioxx-Claim.com
VioxxRecallLawyer.com and Vioxx-Lawsuits.com.
As of October 4th, 2004 the only NON-news related site in the
top organic results at Google that are NOT online pharmacies,
government agency sites, NIH (National Institutes of Health)
or an information site http://arthritis.about.com/od/vioxx/
is a site that emphasizes giant class action lawsuits at
http://www.bigclassaction.com/class_action/vioxx.html which
has a PageRank of 5 as of October 4th at 5pm Pacific time.
The final ranked site of top 30 for the single word “Vioxx”
at Google is the legal information site Findlaw in their class
action section at http://injury.findlaw.com/vioxx/ which asks
your zip code on first visit and must use IP delivery for
robots visiting the first time since there is nothing on that
page about Vioxx if you’ve never visited the page before.
Now we will see what techniques are used by Search Engine
Optimization firms that hurriedly post sites full of links
to gain search position for the word Vioxx in order to sell
more links to those agressive law firms and attorneys (and
they’ll run expensive click-through Google Adsense ads).
Without doubt, the most SEO savvy attorneys will compete at
a fever pitch for top rankings over the next few weeks.

Free Webmaster Tools to Assist in the Running of your Online Home Business
June 27, 2009 by The Big SEO
When looking for free webmaster tools, my advice to you is to be sure that you are using tools from a reputable site or, more importantly, if you are downloading software be very careful that the download does not contain adware and spyware or viruses for that matter!
On that note let’s start off with the free software that you can use to protect your computer, because if that is not running well you will not be able to run you online business successfully. Windows Defender from Microsoft is great at scanning your computer for unwanted software. The free version of AVG Anti-Virus as well as Ad-Aware SE and Spybot are great at keeping your computer free of viruses and other undesirables! The free version of ZoneAlarm has many great attributes. Just a word of warning if you are running AVG anti-virus, ZoneAlarm will not detect that you have anti-virus protection, so do not be alarmed, it is just that ZoneAlarm has not been programmed to look for AVG. The one program I did purchase was ProcessGuard, which amongst other things protects my computer from keyboard loggers, protects the physical memory, blocks global hooks, blocks rootkit/driver/service installation and registry DLL injection. These programs all run harmoniously on my computer and so far I have managed to keep out all the dangerous and unwanted intruders.
Now on to the more exciting free webmaster tools, that will greatly assist you in the running of your online home business.
Google Alerts can really add excitement to your day. If you set up a Google alert for the name of your affiliate program/s, Google will advise you by email when a new page appears on Google with these search terms and you can view the page and see if it is an opportunity to recruit an affiliate. Sometimes the new page can be a forum post asking for opinions on the affiliate program. This gives you the opportunity to add your opinion with your affiliate link of course in the signature file.
You can also set up a Google alert for your own name. This throws up some really exciting results as you can see when someone has clicked on your profile in an Article Directory or clicked on your articles as well as where people have clicked to find out what other articles you have written. This is definitely worth trying as I am sure you will be both surprised and amazed at what comes up!
Google Webmaster Tools, previously known as Google Sitemaps is so useful in that you are able to let Google know when you have updated your site. The sitemap enables Google to crawl your site better and ensures that the most current pages of your site are indexed quickly. You can just create a sitemap upload it to the same directory as your .index files and in the Google Webmaster Tools under Add a Sitemap you just type in or paste the url of your new sitemap. Google also give you reports on their latest crawl of your site and notifies you of errors, as well as give you details and positioning of your keywords. There is also other really useful information available.
Google Analytics is an amazing free service where you can see exactly where your visitors came from both geographically and through which entry page, what
keywords they used, where they exited your site, etc. You will have to give this one a try for yourself as there is just so much useful information for the webmaster which enables you to fine tune your marketing and promotion strategies for your online home business.
StatCounter offers a free version which I use on my site and I keep it invisible, as I believe it to be more professional, but this free service also provides incredibly detailed information about your visitors, which is extremely useful. It also records your page loads, unique visitors, first time visitors and returning visitors. It is easy to install and with this powerful little tool you can check to see that visitors to your site are increasing daily.
Online Link Popularity Tools and Back Link checkers are easily available online and enable you to monitor your link popularity and back links on a regular basis. Writing and publishing articles regularly is a great way to see your back links increase on a daily basis.
These are only a handful of the free tools that I do use to assist me with my online home business. There are many more really useful tools provided by Google as well as other reputable sites, it is just a matter of finding what suits you and your business.
As traffic is the key to generating an income from your online home business, these tools that I have mentioned assist me in closely monitoring where my traffic is coming from and what keywords are being used.
Using Robots.txt to Control Search Engines
June 26, 2009 by The Big SEO
Robots.txt is a text file you put on your site to tell search robots which pages you would like them not to visit. Robots.txt implements the Robots Exclusion Protocol, which allows you as a web manager, to define what parts of your site are off-limits to search engine crawlers. For example, Web managers can disallow access to .cgi, private, temporary directories and other areas with pages they do not want accessed or indexed.
The robots.txt file is made up of two parts, the User-agent and the Disallow. The User-agent specifies which robots to allow or disallow and the Disallow specifies which directories robots can or cannot crawl. The robots.txt is a gentleman’s agreement and some crawlers, such as Google, may ignore the robots.txt file that disallows all crawling.
The structure of a robots.txt is pretty simple. This example allows all robots to visit all files:
User-agent: *Disallow:
Example of a recommended robots.txt files blocking crawling of the scripts and images directories:
User-agent: * Disallow: /scripts/
Disallow: /images/
If you have a particular robot in mind, such as the Google image search robot, which collects images on your site for the Google Image search engine, you may include lines like the following:
User-agent: Googlebot-Image
Disallow: /
This means that the Google image search robot, should not try to access any file in the root directory and all its subdirectories.
You can create the robots.txt file manually, using any text editor. It should be an ASCII-encoded text file, not an HTML file and the filename should be lowercase. Include the robots.txt file in your server’s root directory. This is standard web management practice. It must be in the main directory because otherwise user agents (search engines) will not be able to find it – they do not search the whole site for a file named robots.txt. Instead, they look first in the main directory and if they don’t find it there, they simply assume that this site does not have a robots.txt file and therefore they index everything they find along the way.
All search engines, or at least all the important ones, now look for a robots.txt file as soon their spiders your web site. So, even if you currently do not need to exclude the spiders from any part of your site, having a robots.txt file is still a good idea, it can act as a sort of invitation into your site.
Google Sitemaps Explained – How To Use Google Sitemaps
June 26, 2009 by The Big SEO
Three Ways To Index Your Site With Google Sitemaps [Difficult, Hard, And Easy]
Google has recently implemented a program where any webmaster can create a Sitemap of their site and submit it for indexing by Google. It is a quick and easy way for you to keep your site constantly indexed and updated in Google.
The program is appropriately called Google Sitemaps.
In order for you to best use Sitemaps, you must have an XML generated file on your site that will transmit or send any updates, changes, and data to Google. XML (Extensible Markup Language)is everywhere these days, you have probably seen the orange XML logo on many web sites and its often associated with Blogging because Blogs use XML/RSS feeds to syndicate their content.
Today RSS is known mostly as ‘Really Simple Syndication’ but its original acronym stood for ‘Rich Site Summary’. XML is only simple code like HTML and it is used to syndicate your content to all interested parties.
And the interested party in this case is Google. By creating Sitemaps, Google is really asking webmasters to take charge of the indexing and updating of their sites. Basically, doing the Googlebot’s job!
This is a ‘Good’ thing! With the steady influx of new web sites growing rapidly, indexing all this material will become a challenge, even with the resources of Google. With Sitemaps, websmasters can now take charge and make sure their site is crawled and indexed.
Please note, indexing your site with Sitemaps WON’T improve your rankings in Google. You will still be competing with the other sites in Google for top positions. But with Sitemaps you can make sure all your pages are crawled and indexed quickly by Google.
There are some other big advantages of using Google’s Sitemaps – mainly you have control over a few key variables, attributes or tags. To explain this as simply as possible, your XML powered sitemap file will have this simple code for each page of your site:
< url> < loc>http://www.yoursite.com/< / loc> < priority>1.0< /priority> < lastmod>2005-07-03T16:18:09+00:00< /lastmod> < changefreq>daily< /changefreq> < /url>
Along with ‘urlset’ tags at the beginning and end of your code, and an XML version indication – that’s basically your XML file! File size will depend on the number of webpages you have.
Taking a closer look at this XML file:
location – http://www.yoursite.com – name of your webpage
priority – you set the priority you want Google to place on that page in your site. You can prioritize your pages: 0.0 being the least, 1.0 being the highest, 0.5 is in the middle. This is ONLY relative to your site. It will not affect your rankings. Why is this important? You have certain pages on your site that are more important than others, (home page, high profit page, opt-in page, etc.) by placing high priority on these pages, you will increase their importance in Google.
last modified – when you last modified that page, this timestamp allows crawlers to avoid recrawling pages that haven’t changed.
change frequency – you can tell Google how often you change that particular page. Never, weekly, daily, hourly, and so on – if you frequently update your page this could be extremely important.
Why do I need a XML Generator?
In order for this XML sitemap file on your site to be constantly updated, you need a Generator that will spider your site, list all the urls and automatically feed them to Google. Thus constantly updating your site in Google’s massive index or database. Keep in mind, Google also gives you the option of submitting a simple text file with all your URLs.
Now there is already a flood of these generators popping up! Different ways of generating your XML powered sitemap file. More are probably appearing as you read this. For your convenience, three ways to generate your XML Sitemaps file are listed below:
Difficult – Google’s Python Generator
That’s a relative term, if you know your server like the back of your hand and installing scripts doesn’t scare the bejesus out of you, you’re probably smiling at the word difficult. Google supplies a link to a generator which you can download and set up on your server. It will cough up your sitemap XML file and automatically feed it to Google. In order for this Generator to work, Python version 2.2 must be installed on your web server – many servers don’t have this. If you know what you’re doing, this will probably be a good choice.
You don’t need a Google Account to use Sitemaps but it’s encouraged because you can track your sitemap’s progress and view diagnostic information. If you already have another Google Account gmail, Google Alerts, etc. just use that one to sign in and follow directions from there.
To submit your Sitemap using an HTTP request, issue your request to the following URL:
www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=sitemap_url
Hard – A PHP Code Generator
This is a php generator that you can place on your server. This generator will spider your site, and produce your XML sitemap file. Download the phpSitemapNG and upload it to your server. Run the generator to get your XML sitemap file and send it to Google. PHP Generator http://enarion.net/google/
Again, this is only hard to do if you don’t know your way around PHP files or scripts.
Easy – Free Online Generator
These Generators are popping up everywhere, and Google now keeps a list of these ‘third party suppliers’ of generators on their site. Find them here: http://code.google.com/sm_thirdparty.html
One of the easiest to use is http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ and you can index up to 500 pages with this online Generator very quickly and it will give you the sitemap XML file Google needs to index your site. It will go into your site, spider it and index all your pages into an XML sitemap of your site. You can download this file, Compressed or Non- compressed and make minor changes such as setting the priority, changing frequency, etc.
Then upload this file to your site as sitemap.xml to the root directory of your server i.e. where you have your homepage. Then notify Google Sitemaps of your XML file and you’re in business.
Of course, the only drawback, if you constantly add pages to your site you will need to also add these pages to your XML sitemap file. This won’t be much of a problem unless you’re daily adding pages to your site – then you will need something like the PHP or Python generator to do all this for you automatically.
Google is still the major search engine on the web so getting your pages indexed and updated quickly is the major reason to use Google Sitemaps. If you want your site to remain competitive it’s probably the wisest route to take.
